The Date of Thanksgiving 2012 (Canada)

The Date of ThanksgivingThanksgiving Day is observed on the second Monday of October in Canada. This year, the date of Thanksgiving Day will be Monday October the 8th. The date of Thanksgiving in Canada is earlier than that of the United States because in Canada winter hits much sooner and turkeys tend to have migrated south by November. Those that fail to migrate for one reason or another often get their feet frozen to the ground and are stepped on by moose or chewed up by beavers for damn building material.

In Canada, as in the United States, it is tradition to have a monstrous turkey dinner. Canadian turkeys are not raised on farms as they are in the United Stated but rather are rounded up with dog sled and corralled into igloos built specifically for the purpose.

Survival Facts
